The Lincoln Park Criterium
xXx Racing-Athletico invites you to the 2016 Alderman James Cappleman’s 46th Ward Lincoln Park Criterium, one of the only road cycling criteriums within Chicago’s city limits. Since 2012, the Lincoln Park Criterium has taken place along Lake Michigan at Montrose Harbor. With a beautiful location on Chicago’s lakefront, a challenging 180-degree turn, and enthusiastic spectators, the Lincoln Park Criterium has grown to attract many participants from across the region.
xXx Racing-Athletico has a commitment to developing cyclists in the Chicagoland area, the Lincoln Park Criterium offers races for juniors riders aged 9-14 and 15-18. With a total purse of over $2,000, xXx Racing-Athletico is proud to have equal payouts for men and women.

The Lincoln Park Criterium features a 0.8 mile (1.3 km) loop along Chicago’s lakefront. Cyclists will negotiate a course with a fast downhill section leading into two 90-degree turns, before the course’s technical 180-degree hairpin. The finish of the race features a 150 meter sprint out of the final corner to the finish line.

Start & Finish Line: Montrose Harbor, north of Wilson Avenue on Lawrence-Wilson Drive
Driving & Parking Directions: Use Lake Shore Drive and northern exits near Montrose Harbor. The venue can be accessed via Montrose Avenue, Wilson Avenue, and Lawrence Avenue. Start/Finish and registration are on the west side of Lawrence-Wilson Drive near the Montrose Dog Beach. Parking is available along Simonds Drive north of Lawrence Avenue and south of Wilson Avenue, and in the Wilson Parking Lot (pay lot operated by Chicago Park District) adjacent to the Wilson Skate Park.
The Lincoln Park Crit course is a 0.8-mile (1.3km) loop along Chicago lakefront, featuring two 90-degree turns and one 180-degree turn.

Register for additional races and receive a $15 per race discount. Pre-registration will close Wednesday April 27th at 11:59 PM.
Race-day registration opens at 7:00 AM and closes 20 minutes prior to each event. Day of registration will include a $10 surcharge.
A one-day USA Cycling racing license may be purchased for $15 and are only available for Cat 5 men, and Cat 4 women. Annual licenses are $75 for Adults and $35 for Juniors.
A minimum of five racers must be present for each category race to be held. Races may be shortened or combined at the discretion of the Chief Official.
Racing rain, snow or shine. All USA Cycling rules apply. All riders must wear a helmet whenever on a bicycle at this event. Held under USA Cycling Event Permit 2016-1138.
